The Atrium roof structure allows very little natural light to enter the building and creates a visually confusing centrepiece to the building.
When designing the interior, the improved lighting and consistency of lighting levels were major problems to resolve. The solution we devised was low cost and low maintenance. By stretching a white, light reflecting fabric canopy between the steel trusses and illuminating the fabric from below, we were able to provide consistent light levels to the interior, simplifying the ceiling shape and creating a central feature to the interior.
